Mental bicep training alone increased strength by 13.5% according to a study conducted at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
A Compelling Story:
My youngest daughter began her first high school season with a clear goal of qualifying for the District Championship meet at the end of the season. As the season progressed, she also found herself immersed in a competition for the final spot on her high school team’s 400 free relay, a team that had qualified for States the previous season and had a real shot at breaking the team’s pool record that season. She was a freshman competing for this spot with an upperclassman. Each meet was a competitive showcase for that final spot. This could’ve been a highly stressful situation that spilled beyond the pool into our home life but there were no signs of stress in our household.
My daughter was training with top-notch swimming coaches and supplementing that with physical training out of the pool. This was not unusual for swimmers in the area. This was the norm in the local competitive world of swimming. But she was also doing something beyond the skills work, the conditioning, and the physical training. She was also utilizing my Mental Materialization Method (M3) to engage the power of her mind to help materialize her goals. Engaging the power of the mind provides “The Ultimate Edge.”
Through the use of my Mental Materialization Method she was clear on her goal, confident in its eventual achievement and stress free through each of the weekly head to head competitions.
The final result was a drop in time of over 2.6 seconds in the 100 freestyle individual event at the league championship meet. This drop was almost a full second greater than any of the other top 23 participants in the race.
The competition was settled. Not only did she finish tied for 4th place in the individual event she also secured the final spot on the 400 free relay team for the remainder of the championship season. Her relay team went on to qualify for the state championship meet, making it into the consolation final, finished 14th overall in the state. And all of these accomplishments materialized without drama or stress or any conflict between her and her parents or coaches.
My Mental Materialization Method (M3) is a systematic approach developed through experimentation rooted in the scientific method. The system is built on the hypothesis that thoughts and feelings are forms of energy and these energies are intertwined with the physical world we experience. Simply stated – as you think and feel, so you experience.
This system is much more than thinking positively. The system is made up of three critical factors which must all be engaged for the energy of thought to materialize in the physical world.
The Three Critical Factors Are:
Belief: Believing that performance beyond that which is being currently experienced is possible for you. Past performance does not define your potential future Performance boundaries.
Focused Thought: A clear detailed thought of the desired future performance is focused in your mind.
Feeling/Emotion: The focused goal is supercharged with your feelings and emotions. When your envisioned performance is thought of, it should be felt and played back in the mind like a memory of something that has already occurred, not something that may someday, hopefully occur.
The M3 system involves observation and measurement that enables you and/or your athlete to monitor and control each of the three critical factors to ensure that the focused thought is experienced in the physical just as it was envisioned in the mind.
The three critical factors work together just like the three elements required to build a campfire. Fire needs oxygen (the air), fuel (firewood), and energy (a match, or spark). Take any of these elements away and you won’t have a campfire. In a similar way, take any of the three critical factors away from the Mental Materialization Method and you will not experience in the physical the desired outcome you envision in your mind.
Understanding the three critical factors, how you influence those factors and how to practically apply the system is the key to giving yourself “The Ultimate Edge.” The system unlocks the hidden power overlooked by most but understood and engaged by the best. If you want to experience your best performance ever, then consider trying the Mental Materialization Method.
